I am proud to be from such a diverse country. From people to the landscape, there is something for everyone in Australia. We have rich river ways and rolling mountain ranges to harsh deserts and red dirt. Also our beaches are pristine and home to the coral reef one of the seven wonders of the world. The people are lovely as well very open, friendly and easy going.

Furthermore, Australia is one step closer to being a true environmental protector. A small town in NSW Australia has received widespread support for it’s banning of plastic bottled water. No shops sell plastic bottles and instead residents can buy reusable water bottles in supermarkets. They can also fill up their water for free in shopping malls and find water dispensers throughout the town. This just shows that the power and determination of one small town can change how the rest of the country reacts to climate change. I would like to see this kind of initiative replicated throughout the whole country during my reign as Miss Earth Australia 2009.

I SAY:
Old jars don’t belong to trash bins because they can be reused as containers or house décor.
